Why Are Wiper Blades So Expensive?

When it comes to buying windscreen wipers, you’ll find there are cheap wiper blades, premium wiper blades and then arm and leg expensive wiper blades.

So what is the difference?

  1. Cheap wiper blades are made for the landfill, they don’t last very long, don’t perform well and are not made from quality materials and can put your windscreen at risk, usually you’ll find these for ~$35 a pair at your local service station or auto parts store. The only good thing about them is the price tag.
  2. Premium refillable wiper blades are priced at $65 available online or in-store from us, so whats the difference? These are made to be used and refilled.
  3. Expensive wiper blades are usually genuine parts available from the dealership, just as good as the premium wiper blades, only with a higher price. Most people don’t have the time to research for other options so they just surrender their hard earned money and move on with life.

Most vehicles today are fitted with metal frame wiper blades that rust over time and when the rubber sheet is worn, the metal parts in the frame can scratch and possibly damage the windshield and our wiper blades are an upgrade from these old metal wiper blades.

If it never rains where you are, then maybe wipers aren’t important for you, but for the rest of Australia, wipers play a crucial part in all of our lives to keep us safe on the road when they’re called upon to wiping away water but end up squealing in the process.

It doesn’t matter how much you’re willing to pay or whether you end up with the wrong windshield wiper for your car. If you live in an area with harsh climatic conditions, a pair of good – high quality, inexpensive, high performance – windshield wipers will do. It is up to you to decide whether or not you want to spend extra money on more effective windscreen wipers, and that is up to you if you are willing to pay for it.

One reason to avoid cheap wiper blades is that the blades only last a month and don’t last as long as the expensive ones. Premium windshield wipers use a one-piece design that allows the blade to sit well on the curved surface of the windshield, improving the wiping process.
